Members will prowl the rural back roads east of Calgary in search of the beautiful and elusive Snowy Owls.

Abraham Lake Ice Bubbles - Cancelled due to ice conditions. May reschedule to some time in February weather dependent - Stay Tuned
Check out the icy spectacle on Abraham Lake when methane bubbles become trapped in the ice, suspended just below the surface. (Alternate Date: Saturday January 24th, 2026.)

Rothney Astrophysical Observatory
Workshop with Alan Dyer – Rothney Astrophysical Observatory (Details being finalized.)
Shooting nightscapes – scenes of the night sky over scenic landscapes. This 3.5-hour workshop will be divided into two segments: a 90-minute classroom session in the Visitor Centre of the Rothney Astrophysical Observatory, followed after a break by a 90-minute shooting session outside on the grounds of the Observatory south of Priddis.
