No time at all has passed since the Calgary Stampede, but memories are still fresh. Cochrane Camera Club members put on an amazing show of talent in Photographer’s Corner. Sixteen members participated with spectacular displays of nature, action and artistry.
The Stampede setup team, headed by Cathy Lane Goodfellow, are volunteer pros. Drop off, check-in, and check-out are smooth sailing.
Photography Corner was just inside the entrance to the Western Oasis art exhibit hall, and one of the first galleries for attendees to see.
Cochrane Camera Club had 16 members participate, with one or two images per person.
Several of our members participated in the ‘meet the photographer’ sessions where they could chat to the general public about their images – and promote the club! Conversations ranged from ‘how on earth did you get that shot’, to ‘what kind of gear do you use’ (yes, occasionally the dreaded ‘your camera takes really good photos’), and ‘are those really wild horses’!
Some of us even remembered to have photos taken with our images!
Overall, it was a great experience. We chatted passionately about how much we love what we do. We promoted aspects of our incredible eco-system. And we educated the general public. Win, win, win!
