It looks like everyone had a great day pursuing the elusive Snowy Owls on January 8 with 25 members attending our annual Snowy Owl Prowl. Our Cochrane members were led by Denise Smith and the Calgary members, who met in Beiseker, were led by Dennis Gowriluk. The members prowled the backroads in an area east of Beiseker and other surrounding locations.
Despite being -22, we had light winds and a clear, sunny sky which made the day a lot more pleasant than the temperature would indicate. We had a lot of members reporting multiple Snowy sightings throughout the day and it appears a number of good photos were taken including other wildlife, landscapes and abandoned vehicles and farms.
