Wildflower Outing - Chester Lake

Updated: Sep 16, 2021

There were 6 of us that ventured out to Chester Lake to capture the wildflowers.

We started the day with a beautiful drive out to Kananaskis. It is always so great to get out of town and into our beautiful playground of the Canadian Rockies.

The first part of the hike was a little grueling, but we were rewarded with lush meadows filled with every kind of wildflower imaginable. We spent time photographing in the meadows full of paintbrushes, daisies, fireweed, and so many different types of bells (white, blue, purple). The choices were endless.

We hiked up to the elephant rocks and were treated to having them all to ourselves. This doesn't happen often, as this is a very popular hiking spot. We enjoyed our time there.

We had lunch by Chester Lake, photographed even more flowers and landscapes and then made our way back down to the parking lot. It was a great day. We all commented on how awesome it was to share the outing together.
